All The NEWS in one post!
« on: September 03, 2016, 10:48:07 PM »
Hi Kids!
The stuff I write about here is not only important, but may change from time to time. Unfortunately many members still ignore these. :-[   Just about everything you want to know is here somewhere; all you have to do is read stuff!!! Your doing so will make this forum run smoother and faster. (We're already pushing the limits of the forum's software as it is ;) ) You folks with those cool SlideMeister designations get no special treatment either, just as you folks with a bunch of posts under your belt (who, should really know better) :P :-[  Even if you think you know them all, a quick review now and then will keep you up to speed. ;)

Okay, here are all 13 news items in one post: (might even wanna print this - I'll post a message on the "Read'em or Weep" board if I add something)

1.   To join us, simply go to: www.SlideMeister.com/forums/index.php?action=register AND READ THE AGREEMENT, CHOOSE A USERNAME AND PASSWORD AND CLICK THE "REGISTER" BUTTON. I USUALLY ANSWER ALMOST IMMEDIATELY WITH AN APPROVAL AND A NOTE EXPLAINING BASIC PROCEDURES.  IMPORTANT! (Check your SPAM/Junk box to be sure not to miss it)  "ACTIVATE" YOUR ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY IF POSSIBLE. FAILURE TO DO SO WITHIN SEVEN DAYS WILL ALWAYS RESULT IN YOUR BRAND NEW ACCOUNT BEING DELETED AND SUBSEQUENT APPLICATIONS IGNORED unless preceded by a $20 US payment to site@SlideMeister.com at PayPal. :-\ (I only do all that vetting and security stuff once for nothin' :) )

2.   ANY MEMBER WITH LESS THAN 16 POSTS IS CONSIDERED A SlideMeister "APPLICANT." AS AN APPLICANT, YOU ARE ~REQUIRED~ (at the least) TO SIGN IN/Activate TO YOUR ACCOUNT WITHIN SEVEN DAYS OF YOUR ACCOUNT BEING APPROVED. ALSO, YOU MUST SAY "HELLO" TO THE GROUP WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS OF ACTIVATION, WHICH EARNS YOU FIFTEEN (15) POSTING CREDITS, AND YOUR ACCOUNT GETS UPGRADED TO "BABY BUTTON PUSHER," AFTER WHICH THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO FURTHER POSTING REQUIREMENTS, EVER. Again, failure to do both the above mentioned items in a timely manner, WILL result in your account being deleted, AND SUBSEQUENT APPLICATIONS IGNORED unless submitted with a twenty dollar re-Application fee. Contact me at http://www.SlideMeister.com/aj.html

3.    PERSONAL MESSAGING ("P.M.") IS A PREMIUM FEATURE (just one of the cool perks given to SUPPORTING members) FOR DETAILS, GO TO  http://SlideMeister.com/support.html. FOR MORE INFO, GO HERE: http://bit.ly/1iqMpON

4.    Quitting. You are free to quit at any time, but please don't do it on a whim, if you do for other than medical, relocational or other "non-drama" reasons, you will not be allowed to return. (we don't do drama at SlideMeister) :P

5.   REJECTIONS & DELETIONS EXPLAINED. Many of you "Guests" reading this, notice that your application for membership was answered with something you didn't think was important enough to read, and a week or so later, you got a "rejection letter."  The Approval I sent (immediately) in response to your application was labelled "ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT within seven days or your account will be deleted" Then a week or so later you recall receiving a note from the system informing you that your account has, in fact, been deleted, after which, some have written back immediately to cuss me out and demonstrate their ignorance. I always find it amazing how "Your account has been deleted" generates an immediate response, a week after "ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT within seven days or your account will be deleted" was ignored.  :P

Again, anyone who applies to join SlideMeister, ~I~ personally research and ~I~ personally approve. (it's not an automatic process) If the newly researched and approved member doesn't even answer the "activation" letter ~I~ send them, that person is less than worthless to us and may not even be given second chance to "dis" the forum. Nothing personal; we just don't have the time to waste on bozos, ::) so don't join SlideMeister on a whim, okay?

FWIW: Last time I figured it out, maybe one out of a hundred ever read the "agreement" / AKA rules and reg. (the very few of you that have, know exactly what I'm talking about. ;) ) To be fair, I'm sure some don't respond when they see that I actually expect them to say "Hello" or whatever, which us fine with me as well, cuz as the old guy who likes to protect the members, I see anonymous, nameless, faceless "members" as security risks and therefore, not worth having around anyway. :)

SIGN IN AT LEAST ONCE EVERY 150 DAYS. If you come back after a five month plus absence, and find that you can't get into your account, it means we deleted it your account as promised in the Acceptance letter we sent you when you joined us. Contact me through http://www.SlideMeister.com/aj.html and I'll hook you back up again (for $20) Simply signing in to your account at least once every five months, or becoming a SlideMeister supporter (blue button above) will secure your account for as long as we're here. (* SlideMeister supporters are exempt from the five-month rule.)

6.   New members (AKA, Applicants) must make that one post to introduce themselves to the group in order to get the 15 posting credits that make them "Baby Button Pushers."  Asking a question on your first post is not an acceptable substitute for an introduction. In fact, doing so will result in my never getting around to giving you those posting credits. :P (so you'll have to work your way up the hard (and long) way with your own 15 posts :( ) The quickest way to escape the awkward limits of "Applicant" status is to simply introduce yourself as soon as your account is approved.

7.   Whenever you contact SlideMeister (or A.J.Fedor) for account related information of any kind, be sure to use the same email address and/or username associated with your SlideMeister account; so I can find you on the roster. If I can't find you; your request goes "out into the draught" (i.e.: in the pooper) :P

8.  Political and potentially inflammatory subject matter. Yeah, I know; Nowadays, what isn't? :P However, one needn't be some kind of diplomat to know what is, or is not potentially provocative.  C'mon! SlideMeister may be the world's best example of a "global community" with a common interest. We ALL have opinions that might in fact "fly in the faces" of others" (especially those on opposite sides of the globe) but if we can't rise above that fact, and continue to get along, there's no hope for mankind on this planet, and I might as well just pull the plug!! So, threads that I see "morphing ugly," "going sour," or "going south" (regardless of the content, O.P., or number of posts contained therein)  :-\ will be deleted in their entirety.

9.   Okay, on this forum, all product/service related communication between product/service providers and members is considered "Commercial" and should be done by private email, OR on the "COMMERCIAL SITES" board. This type of post will be deleted as soon as I see it and violators will probably even get yelled at.  Ha Ha!

10.  WANT ADS HERE
Any member in good standing* can post a WANT AD here by simply submitting it to: mail@SlideMeister.com  We will post the ad on the CLASSIFIEDS board, and responses from current SlideMeister members in good standing,* ;) will be directed back to the want ad poster. Once we do that, we (SlideMeister) are out of the picture; the buyer and seller take it from there. Goto the Classified board for more details. Still have questions? Send them to: mail@SlideMeister.com  members in good standing* = SlideMeister member for more than 60 days.

11.  On any given board, be sure to read the "locked topics" (they are the ones in blue or red) Most boards will have a locked topic called: "About This Board"  Be sure to read them as they describe the board, along with the rules/guidelines on that board.

12.  Our eBay selling policy:

13.   PLEASE MAKE A CONSCIOUS EFFORT TO KEEP THREADS ON TOPIC, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE THE AUTHOR OF THAT THREAD. THIS WILL ADD TO THE EFFICIENCY OF THE FORUM.
